The region of interest in this paper is located at the southern coal mining area ofthe Acanghe River, Tianjun County, Qinghai Province, right sandwiched between theJiangcang coal mine and the Hushan coal mine; the said three mines altogetherconstitute the Coal Mine Belt in the middle part of Muli Coalfield, which is deemedas one of the significant coal producing area in Qinghai Province.Based on the integrated research on regional geology, structure as well asgeologic feature of the southern Acanghe mining area, via the analysis of geophysicalwell logging methods and techniques over the coalfield, including the selection, performance and technical index evaluation of the geophysical well logginginstrumentation and equipments as well as the application of processing andinterpreting softwares for geophysical well logging, the author establishes theinterpretation principles for the qualitative and thickness determination, and conductscomparison and contrast over the main coal seams of the southern Acanghe miningarea, upon which the author summarizes the geophysical features of the majorminable seams in this area and makes a reliability appraisal of the correlation of coalseams. Exploration indicates that the geophysical well-log information basedapproach, if combined with correlation of coal seams with reference to geologicfeatures, has greater advantages such as more credible data, reliability andmaneuverability, the seam distribution and thickness data thus obtained are morereliable, so it’s of certain promotional values in practice.
