It has been advocated by many countries to protect marine rights and make proper use of marine resources, with two thirds of the earth covered by the ocean. For the past few years, oceanic disasters have taken place one after another. Decreasing loss caused by oceanic disasters has been a hot topic in recent years. Ocean Observing and Data Transferring System can be established to monitor state of a very wide sea area. By storing and analyzing monitor data, oceanic disasters will be efficiently predicted.Ocean Observing and Data Transferring System consists of marine monitoring and data transferring system, on land data transferring system and data process terminal. Data monitored from marine monitoring and data transferring system ensure the feasibility and reality of Ocean Observing and Data Transferring System. Nodes in marine monitoring and data transferring system are working in wireless Ad Hoc network. Suitable Ad Hoc routing protocol has vital impact on data end-to-end delay and data transmission error. The marine monitoring and data transferring system is the research objective in this study, while we choose simulation experiment based on NS2as the research method. Firstly, the hierarchy and network of marine monitoring and data transferring system are explained. At the same time, we compare some kinds of network form, including Ad Hoc network. Based on the above knowledge, suitable routing protocol can be regarded as the key of data transmission rapid and reliable. The network model are designed in NS2, and network performance in aspects of packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay using DSDV, DSR, AODV protocol is obtained respectively. The result shows that AODV achieves best performance.
