The state estimation of complex networks is one of the hot spots in the research of control engineering. In many practical applications, the nodes of the system transmit data through a shared communication network.Due to the bandwidth constraints, simultaneous multiple transmissions for all nodes over the communication channel would give raise to inevitable data collisions and packet dropouts. An effective way is to schedule the signal transmissions according to certain communication protocols, which can protect the signal transmission from data collisions. The communication protocols are utilized to decide which nodes have the privileges to send data at each time instant. So it is necessary to analyze and estimate the dynamics of complex networks under the communication protocol. The paper is concerned with the state estimation problem for a class of discrete nonlinear complex networks with time-varying delays under the communication protocols(the Round-Robin Protocol&the Stochastic Communication Protocol). The main contents of this paper can be highlighted as follows. In the first chapter,we introduce the research background of complex network and the research status of state estimation under the communication protocol, and put forward the problems to be studied. In the second chapter,we consider the H? state estimation problem for a class of nonlinear complex networks with the exogenous disturbance subject to the Round-Robin protocol. The communication protocol uses the RR protocol to standardize the rights of each node to use the communication network. Most of the existing papers based on the performance analysis of the system under the communication protocol stipulate that only one node obtains the right to use the communication network at each communication instant.Based on this, the node grouping method is proposed for the first time. There is a group nodes rather than one node to use the communication network at each communication instant, which can ensure the observability of the system, and then effectively estimate the state of the complex network.Subsequently,a novel Lyapunov functional depending on the communication protocol is employed to deal with the dynamics analysis issue of the estimation error.By using the Lyapunov stability theory and some new techniques, sufficient conditions are established to insure asymptotically stable of the estimation error. Then, the estimator gains are described in terms of the solution to a linear matrix inequality(LMI).Finally,a numerical example is exploited to show the usefulness of the results derived. In the third chapter,we consider the state estimation problem for a class of nonlinear complex networks with the exogenous disturbance under the Stochastic Communication protocol. The Stochastic Communication Protocol is introduced between the nodes and the state estimator to avoid the communication collision, and the corresponding scheme is characterized by a Markov chain.Sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the ultimate boundedness of the estimation error in mean square via the stochastic analysis techniques and the Lyapunov stability theory. Then, the desired estimator gains are characterized by solving a linear matrix inequality(LMI).
