Recently, the application of atomic force microscope becomes more and more widely, which leads to the increase of interests in studying the van der Walls force and Casimir force by many researchers. Based on the research works on the study of Casimir effect and Casimir-Polder effect at home and abroad, I presented a theoretical model to calculate the Casimir-Polder force. Furthermore, a data simulation and theoretical analysis was also offered through some relevant calculation software. In the first chapter, the background and significance of this study is described. Firstly, the paper briefly introduced the developing process of Casimir force and its effect, as well as some measurement and application situations. The main target and innovation of this thesis is also pointed out.In the second chapter, the principle of the Casimir effect and its physical mechanism were given. Then several typical models are summarized, and the calculation formulas are obtained. In addition, according to the situation of domestic and foreign researches, we analysed and discussed the possibility of the repulsive Casimir force, introduced the realization conditions and methods through some specific examples. In the third chapter, the Casimir-Polder force is introduced. Some latest research results were given, including the research models, measuring methods and so on. Then a concrete model to calculate the Casimir-Polder force and its calculation formula is provided.Based on the existing models and calculation methods about the Casimir-Polder force, a new model of the Casimir-Polder force between an atom and a plane was given in the fourth chapter. Moreover, the factors influencing the Casimir-Polder force is briefly analyzed. On the basis of the dipole-dipole interaction, this model used the atomic energy shift in the dipole radiation field, resulted in that the atom got a force from the plane. In the fifth chapter, a summary and prospect of the present work was carried out. According to the theoretical calculation model and the results that had achieved, some opinions and suggestions about future study are put forward.
