Borehole histogram,exploration line section and so on are the foundmental and leadingmaps which are used by geologists. They are composed by some lithology decorativepatterns,curves,words basic symbols,etc. They can not only express the formation lithology,formation characteristics clearly, but also can intuitively express the tendency of the formationconditions, formation structure, strata conditions and strata sedimentary rule. Previously, thesemaps are hand-drawn by the geologists. In recent years, there have been some mappingsoftwares which are based on AutoCAD, GIS development platforms,etc, but these softwaresused still a big work,time-consuming effort, poor portability. so, it is very necessary toresearch one kind of drilling data mapping system of borehole histogram,drilling section andgeological body which is operate simply and not depend on other development platforms.This paper is on the basis of analyzing the Coalfield material, firstly organize andmanage the borehole data, secondly research on the borehole histogram, drilling section andgeological body automatic generation methods, including the generation of drilling plan andlithology column, the lithology pattern design and filling, the drawing of lithology columnbuffer separation line, section line connection, section line smooth, Convex hull algorithm togenerate geological body, geological body rendering and the basic operation of geologicalbody. After analyzing the lithology column buffer separation line drawing methods based on“borrow layer”, it proposed a kind of lithology column buffer separation line drawingmethods that based on lithological description words wrap, and solved the unharmoniousproblem between strata and lithological description words, made the drilling histogram morebeautiful. According to the problem of section line smooth, respectively using Bezier curveand B spline curve two methods smooth the section line, compared with the smooth effects,we can draw the conclusion that B spline curve smooth effect is better than Bezier curve. Forgeological body, adopted a simple and practical algorithm-Convex hull algorithm, realized the generation of the geological body.This article used Visual C++6.0as development tool, SQL Server2000as databasemanagement system, combined with OpenGL3D graphics library development technology,built the borehole data mapping system of borehole histogram, drilling section and geologicalbody, implemented the function of graphical query, translation, scaling, rotation, etc. Took theactual measurement borehole data of Shaanxi HUANG LONG no.2mine field as example,verified that the approaches adopted in this paper are feasible, effective and practical, satisfiedthe actual demands of geologists.
