East slope in the center and southern area of Greater Khingan Mountains is animportant Cu-polymetallic metallogenic belt in China. Cu-polymetallic ore deposit innorthern mountains of Xigujingzi, which is located in Kundu district of East slope in thecenter and southern area of Greater Khingan Mountains, is within the state planned scopeof the best area for ore-searching. This paper has systematically discussed thecharacteristics of this ore deposit, and the obtained conclusions are as follows:Ⅰ.The paper discusses the regional geological background of the ore deposit, whichincludes Permian and Jurassic strata, regional structures and the characteristics of igneousrocks. Through systematically research, we can conclude that:①Permian strataespecially Zhesi group is the main ore-bearing strata of this area.②Neijiangmajordislocation and Xilamulun deep fault are important structures affecting this area.Ⅱ.The paper discusses the geological features of Cu-polymetallic ore deposit innorthern mountains of Xigujingzi, which includes the strata concerned with ore deposit, structures and granite intrusions. The NNW-trending fault is as the passage-way for its orefluid and the NE-trending fault as the host zone. The formation of ore deposit is closelyconcerned with diorite intrusions and granite intrusions.Ⅲ.The paper carefully describes the characteristics of this ore deposit, whichincludes one medium-sized copper ore body and two small-sized lead-zinc ore body. Thepaper also expounds the mineral compositions, textures and structures of mineral andwall-rock alteration. In the end, we can deduce that this ore deposit is of structurallycontrolled hydrothermal type.Ⅳ.Through the research of the characteristics of Cu-polymetallic ore deposit innorthern mountains of Xigujingzi, the paper has fully gathered geological information, geochemical information and geophysical information of this ore deposit. The formationof comprehensive ore-finding model will promote the development of search for mineralin this area.Through the research of Four1:50thousand area of mineral geology survey inKundu district, Chifeng city, the Nei Monggol Autonomous Region, the paper has gathered abundant first-hand data concerned with mineral geology. By studying this ore deposit, wehave enriched the geological features in this area, analysed the ore-forming elements anddescribed the characteristics of this ore body, which has provided necessary theoreticalbasis to the further research and production practice activity of this ore deposit.
