In this paper, Shaanxi Province as the research object,2000-2011years of MODIS/NDVI images, weather data, DEM data is based on the timing reconstruction method,maximum synthesisdifference method and other methods of spatial analysis of nearly12years in Shaanxi Province vegetation covering the temporal and spatial variation and itsresponse to temperature, precipitation, the following conclusions:(1)2000-2011, Shaanxi Province vegetation coverage increased significantly, andthe vegetation cover has obvious geographical characteristics. The overall distribution ofNDVI was Qin Bashan better than the Guanzhong Plain, and Guanzhong plain area isbetter than the Loess Plateau area of Shaanxi. The province’s vegetation cover increasedyear by year, the linear growth rate is0.0081every year, which was most obviousincrease in the Loess Plateau area, followed by the Guanzhong Plain, the smallest changeof Qin Bashan.(2)Shaanxi Province vegetation changes characterized in time as follow: from2000to2002, Northern Shaanxi Plateau’s NDVI increased significantly and low coverage’sarea decreased; the Guanzhong Plain vegetation index declined; Qin-ba little changed.;From2002to2004, the Guanzhong area coverage has increased, the central of theQinling Mountain vegetation index also increased; During2004-2011In northern ofShaanxi coverage increased except Dingbian country had obviously changed.(3)From2000to2011, the NDVI of Shaanxi Province increased area is78741.14km~2, accounting for38.27%of the total area. Increased areas are mainly located in thePlateau in northern Shaanxi Wuqi County, Zhidan County, Zichangcounty, YanchangCounty, Qingjian County, Suide County, Yichuan County, the north of ChengchengCounty, the south of Heyang County, Pucheng County Central and the northern ofBinXian County.(4) NDVI changes with elevation changes. Guanzhong Plain elevation <500m area around the city, the vegetation cover is severely degraded. ShanNanQinBa Mountainelevation <500m and elevation>1500m region, the vegetation coverage performanced aslight decrease, while500m≤elevation≤1250m region, the vegetation coverageincreased significantly. High altitudes NDVI variation is small, relatively stable. Changeswere little in low-lying areas. In addition, The NDVI relationship with the slope andaspect is also closely.(5) Natural environment (temperature, precipitation) and human activities(population growth) is an important factor affecting the NDVI, their relationship withNDVI is more obvious. But in a different area of Shaanxi Province, the naturalenvironment and human activities on the NDVI distribution of the effect are differences.
