Geographic cities conditions monitoring is part of the geographical situation monitoring, the basic geographic cities monitoring database is an important content of cities general investigation work, which there are the multi-source, massive, multi-scale and multi-temporal characteristics. If these data could be organized reasonably and managed effectively, it will be helpful to organize and manage the basic geographic cities conditions data, and build the basic geographical cities conditions monitoring database, which can establish fundamental data for the geographical cities monitoring service, and strengthen the service function of digital cities.Basic geographic cities conditions monitoring database includes topography database, land cover database, the geographical boundaries database. In this paper, data contents, data characteristics and relationship between different types of data were analyzed.
