The geospatial data transmission has a growing dependence on the network due to theinnovation of the transmission and distribution model, while the security of data transmission onthe network is seriously threatened due to the continuous improvement of network penetration.The encryption provides a certain guarantee for the data transmission, but data can’t avoid beingintercepted and destroyed. Data hiding is a security technology different from encryption ininformation security fields. The secret data transmission was covered by using the specificcarriers so that the trace of data transmission will be disappeared in the vast sea of network. Inthe paper, we determined the feasible schema of geospatial data transmission by network basedon the theory of information hiding; besides, a geospatial data hiding model was established byanalyzing the possibility of geospatial data network transmission and the unreliability of the datatransmission over the network. Start respectively from geospatial data preprocessing and hiding,we studied and designed several methods of geospatial data preprocessing and hiding. Themethods was validated and compared through the experiments. The paper has a certaintheoretical and practical significance, which main contents and innovations are listed as follows:1. Analyzed and compared the differences between the data hiding and encryption.Researched the feasibility of the spatial data network transmission based on hiding technologyunder the background of the geospatial data transmission security through network.2. Designed the schema and implementation process of geospatial data hiding andestablished a geospatial data hiding model based on the theory of data hiding and geospatial datafeatures.3. Researched the compression, encryption and sharing methods of geospatial datarespectively. Designed the compression and encryption scheme of geospatial data by combinedthe general method, while the policy of geospatial data sharing was put forward.4. Analyzed the structure of common image format BMP and JPEG, audio format MP3andvideo format RM deeply. Improved the LSB arithmetic based on BMP, designed and realized thegeospatial data hiding method on the carriers of JPEG, MP3and RM.5. Verified the spatial data preprocessing and hiding methods in paper by experiment.Compared the results and efficiency among different methods of the compression, encryptionand sharing respectively, while estimated for the capacity of three different carriers and putforward the policy of geospatial data hiding carrier choice.
