Supernova is one of the most vigorous astrophysical phenomena in the universe, andtheir study has always been one of the most interesting topic. In the early stages ofresearch, the X-ray spatial resolution is relatively poor, which presents some barriers to thestudy of supernova remnants. Thanks to the high spatial and energy resolution data fromthe Chandra X-ray satellite, we can study supernova remnants in much more detail, andthis help us understand the stellar evolution in late stage, the origin of the heavy elementsin the universe and interstellar medium and cosmic-ray acceleration in a much better way.In this thesis, we study the X-ray properties of the hot plasma in young supernovaremnants G292.0+1.8and Tycho, using the high spatial and energy resolution data fromChandra. The first part of the work in this thesis is the high spatial resolution spectroscopy ofsupernova remnant G292.0+1.8with Chandra. We obtained the spatially resolved physicalparameters of this supernova remnant, including temperature, ionization age, relativeabundance of elements, absorbing column density and etc. We found that there is goodpositive correlation between the abundance of O, Ne and Mg, indicating that they are allfrom the same nuclear synthesis process. Such a good correlation also exists between Siand S abundance. Fe abundance doesn’t correlate with that of any other elements. Bycomparing the observed element abundance with the theoretical calculation, we derive theprogenitor mass of G292.0+1.8to be25to30M⊙.Our second work is using the Chandra observational data to study Tycho’s supernovaremnant in a spatially resolved way. We use the same way to obtain the physicalparameters in Tycho, including temperature, relative abundance, ionization age, emissionmeasure and etc. We found a similar good correlation between Si and S abundance, indicating that they are from the same nuclear synthesis process. Si and Fe abundance alsoshow a putative positive correlation between each other.
