In this peper, we observed the characteristics of fruits hetercarpy, the reproductive out and reproductiveallocation, the population number dynamics, the characteristics of fruits germination of four types fruits ofSalsola affinis C. A. Mey and to compare with Salsola korshinskyi Drob., Salsola nitraria Pall. In order todiscussed their survival strategies in the extreme environment of Junggar desert. To understand thebiological characteristics and the influence factors of Salsola affinis seed germination in different time, andcontribute to the population growth. The main results were as follow:(1)The fruits hetercarpy: we discovered that Salsola affinis, Salsola korshinskyi, Salsola nitrariaPallare actually four different types A, B, C, D of fruits (utricles) that differ in size,100grain weight, seedextemal structure. Four types have significantly difference on size (p<0.05), and the fruits of type A aresignificantly higher than others on fruit size and weight. Through analysis and comparison, the fruitshetercarpy of Salsola affinis is more common, and will change with different environment.(2)The size and the reproductive out: the results showed that different levels of plant have significantdifference, and large level plants have maximum fruits. There are more proportion of fruit type A than othertypes on Salsola affinis, and the proportion of fruit type A in an individual was positively correlated withplant size, while the proportion of three other fruit type was negatively correlated with plant size. In Salsolakorshinskyi plants, the proportion of fruit type A in an individual was positively correlated with plant size,while the proportion of B, D fruit type was negatively correlated with plant size. As the same, SalsolanitrariaPall plants will product more type A, B with plants size, and D fruit type was negatively correlatedwith plant size. Salsola affinis compared with the other two species, it can production more A type fruitwith the increase of plant size, enhanced diffusion ability and germination ability to cope with the adverseenvironment.(3)The size and the reproductive allocation: The mass of reproductive structure increased significantlywith increasing individual size in Salsola affinis and Salsola korshinskyi; There was not certain correlationbetween reproductive allocation and size of Salsola nitraria individuals.(4) Population statistics: after germination in spring, that Salsola affinis, Salsola korshinskyi, Salsolanitraria seeds remain in the seed bank could germinate again, constanly replenished the number of plants tothe ground. The plants that on different germinating time have large proportion of population, and theymade a great contributions to whole population. So different germinating time in population of Salsolaaffinis is more common, and have contributed a lot.(5) All of the Four types seed were germinated in incubators with12h photoperiod and12hthermoperiods (dark/light) of0℃/10℃、5℃/15℃、10℃/25℃、20℃/35℃for20d. Both germinationpercentages of type A, B, C fruits at10℃/25℃were highest in Salsola affinis and Salsola korshinskyi, andtype D fruits have physiological dormancy because germination is slow and low. And Salsola affinis seedshave a higher final germination percentage and faster rate.
