| Capparis spinosa L. is a kind of plant which belongs to the Capparis, Capparaceae, aperennial vines creeping subshrubs. It is mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Tibet, part of Gansu inChina, especially Turpan Basin, Dzungaria Basin and Tarim Basin of Xinjiang. Their growthenvironment is usually associated with dry background like extremely arid gobi, desert and stonyslopes so that showing its properties of tolerance to drought, leanness and weathering. In this paper, its anatomical structures of vegetative organs of different populations wereobserved by the methods of paraffin section. To further understanding its typical structurecharacteristics as xerophytes. we also study the diversity and distribution of AM fungi in the wildCapparis Spinosa of Xinjiang.Meanwhile the effect of different AM fungi on Capparis spinosaare studyed by using pot experiment. To explore the basic structure characteristics and adaptationmechanism to the arid environment of Capparis spinosa. Provide the basic data for thecomprehensive understanding of drought resistance of Capparis spinosa, also provides thedevelopmental basis of its ecological value and economic value. The main results are as follows:1. To inquire into the relationship between anatomical structure characteristics and droughtresistance of Capparis spinosa’s different populations, the anatomical characteristics ofCapparis spinosa’s root, stem, and leaf material which distributed in3populations includeXinjiang Turpan, Korla and Shihezi were studied By using paraffin section and opticalphotomicrograph. The results show that the anatomical structure was highly adapted to its aridenvironment: there were developed periderm and thicker cortex of root. there were epidermal hairsand obvious cuticle on the epidermis of stems, and also developed cortex, pith and vascular tissuein stems. The leaf was isobilateral with double palisade tissue. Dense stomata existed on bothupper and lower epidermis, there were significant cuticle, palisade tissue and conducting tissue inleaf. Its characteristics of xerophil were more obvious as available water condition in soil becameworse in natural habitats. Capparis spinosa in Turpan population was of much significantxeromorphic traits than that in other populations because of its severe arid habitat.2.18species of2genera of AMF were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Capparis spinosa.including13species are belong to Glomus,2species belong to Acaulospora, and3uncertainspecies. Glomus and Acaulospora were the dominant genus. G. aggregatum, G. deserticola and G.mosseae were the dominant species. G. intraradice, G. melanosporum and A. scrobiculata were thecommon species. The highest spore density was occurring at the20-40cm section, which wassignificantly higher than0-20cm and40-60cm soil section. Arbuscular mycorrhizal structure ofroot is obvious, symbiosis with VA fungi is better.3. The effects of AMF (Glomus mosseae, Glomus intraradice) on growth and droughtresistance of Capparis spinosa L. were studied in pot culture. The results show that the mycorrhizal infection rate of Glomus mosseae and Glomus intraradice is higher, The inoculationcan obviously promote the Capparis spinosa,s growth, improving the drought resistance. Amongthe two kinds of inoculation treatments, the effect of inoculation of Glomus mosseae was moreobvious. |
