River corridor is high flood land and parts of the banks of the river that distributes alongrivers and has the obvious differences with surrounding matrix. It is an important part ofecological corridors and beautiful scenery line and the blue line of cities.Most cities were built riverside; land utilization pattern of urban river corridor usuallychanges the natural structure of riverside land. The changes of natural structure play animportant role on the operation of river corridor ecological function. These functions includebarrier, percolation, biodiversity conservation, purifying water quality, etc. Water quality wasnot only related with pollution sources, but also related with the structure of river corridor.With similar pollution source and different river corridor structure, the change of waterquality and biodiversity can reflect whether land use along the river corridor was reasonable.Jilin city is an important heavy industry city of China, which is also the second largestcity of Jilin province.With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, thestructure of the urban river corridor has changed, its barrier, percolation, biodiversityconservation, purifying water quality, and other functions are affected. The research area ofthis article is within the residential zone in the south of anorectal hospital in Jilin urban area,The relationship between river corridor structure and benthic invertebrate groups wereanalyzed using benthic animals. After field investigation and sampling, benthic animal groupswere identified and the number of individual was recorded, diversity indexes were calculatedand statistical analysis was used in order to obtain the diversity index of benthic animals instudy area;The correlation between water quality and river corridor structure and benthicinvertebrates were analyzed. Results showed that: the diversity of benthic animals wasaffected by corridor structures under the same water quality condition. The width of corridorwas positively related to the diversity of benthic animal; the percentage of impervious areawas negatively related instead. This relationship was more obvious in III water class than inIV water class. For impervious patches dominated land configurations, irregular, square patchshapes are better than the round patch shape.According to the results, putting forward adjustment countermeasures of river corridorstructure in Jilin residential area:(1) Minimum width of river corridor should be more than10meters;(2) In100meters wide corridor scale, the percentage of pervious area should be morethan50%;(3) For impervious patches dominated land configurations, construct the irregularshape of the patches as far as possible. In order to ensure the implementation ofcountermeasures, putting forward management measures such as planning, funding, publicity,etc.
