By the rare earth elements conversion luminescence of Pr3+and Yb3+doped materials potential application value for on the infrared radiation detection, color displays, laser, UC biosensor. In recent years, Pr3+has the nature of emission blue and green light and respected by people, Because Pr3+absorption cross section is small, usually joins sensitizer Yb3+to study on the conversion luminescence properties.The Pr3+,Yb3+doped C12A7upconversion powders are prepared by chemical precipitation method. The microstructure and opticalpro perties were in vestigated and meaured by XRD, emission spectra,Variable temperature emission spectrum.The XRD study revealed that the cage structural polycrystalline12CaO路7Al2O3(C12A7) powders were obtained. It demonstrated that Pr3+and Yb3+had been doped into the host in situ.and no damage of the original structure of C12A7.Excited by980nm laser, the emissions from Pr3+ions are observed at409nm,486nm,531nm,544nm and613nm assigning to1S0鈫'3P2,3P0鈫'3H4,3P1鈫'3H4,3P1鈫'3H5,1D2鈫'3H4. In the oxide acquire near ultraviolet emission is very rare.Variable temperature test results show that as the temperature increases, the sample of the luminous intensity increase.This has overcome in other materials due to temperature effect brought about by the light died out..The results show that C12A7is a light metal oxide substrate material That is suitable for Pr3+and Yb3+co-doped.Variable temperature test results show that Substrate material temperature quenching effect is small. In addition, the sample with the good environment affinity and low raw material cost will be its advantage to product lighting use high power LED, other optoelectronic devices widely used in favorable conditions.
