Dongyaozhuang gold deposit located in Wutai County of Shanxi Province.It is atypical greenstone belt gold deposit in the Wutai Mountain area.The mining area is locatedin the western end of the Lijiazhuang-Dacaoping ductile shear zone. The distribution ofrock strata is in the direction of NE-SW,In this area the mineralization conditions areexcellent, and it has great potential for exploration.Studying on the geological features andthe prospecting criteria has great significance to the research and exploration of Wutaishangreenstone belt gold.The deposit bedding developed in the light color strata which is in the middle andlower parts of the Hongmenyan Formation, from north to south, is Ⅲ, Ⅰ, Ⅱ three mainore bodies, arranged in echelon style, controled by dextral transtensional faults. Amongthem,the Ⅰorebody is the main ore body mining area, which is located in the centralmining area.And the work on it is the largest and of the highest level.The strike of the orebody is NEE, the dip is35°~45°, the exposed length is615m.Affected by the faults,showing eastern and western ore belt. The deposit occurred in single inclined layer orstratoid and maining developed in the albite sericite schist of light color which is in themiddle and lower parts of the Hongmenyan Formation.Near the top, occurred diabaseveins.The Ⅲ and Ⅱ ore are located north and south sides of the Ⅰ ore body,their form andoccurrence is consistent with the ore body Ⅰ.Ore types are pyrite sericite schist-type albite, the composition of ore minerals isdiverse.Metallic minerals are mainly pyrite, limonite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, arsenopyrite,copper, blue, etc; Non-metallic minerals are sericite, albite, quartz, followed by chlorite,calcite, mica and other green chloritoid.The alteration and mineralization of the Dongyaozhuang gold deposits are strong andhave the obvious alteration zonation. From the center to both sides of the ore body ispotassic (sodic)-quartz sericite-chlorite carbonate, disseminated pyrite polymetallicmineralization-pyrite vein or limonitization.From the above studies of the geological features of Dongyaozhuang gold deposit, Weget the following conclusions:(1)Strata symbol:The deposit bedding developed green clay schist which is in themiddle and lower parts of Hongmenyan Formation. (2)Construction signs:Ductile shear zone is the most important ore-controllingstructure and host structures. The three main ore bodies of Dongyaozhuang gold deposit arearranged in en echelon, clearly controlled by dextral transtensional faults.(3)Magmatic rocks:The diabase veins in the green belt are closely associated with themineralization, It occurs more in the ore body and near the roof,the alteration andmineralization are strong.(4)Alteration signs: Strong alteration and mineralization of Dongyaozhuang golddeposits,and have the obvious alteration zonation.The pyrite and silicification is a directreflection.(5)Geochemical Indicator: Au ore body has a clear geochemical anomalies.(6)Geophysical Prospecting: High content of pyrite, pyrite and gold enrichment zonebroadly consistent with.In all, the green belt, ductile shear zone, Mesozoic magmatic activity, strong andextensive alteration and mineralization of country rock, geochemical anomalies andinduced polarization anomalies and other geophysical abnormalities, greenstone belt golddeposits constitute an important prospecting.
