The description of oil reservoir is a comprehensive and research and evaluation ofthe oil reservoir. Based on the theory of sedimentology, structural geology, reservoirgeology and petroleum geology, the oil reservoir description is a comprehensive andvisualized technology that integrates the information of geological, seismic, logging andoil testing trial mining and fully applies the computer technology to classify, quantifyand describe the oil reservoir. The visualization of oil reservoir combines reservoirdescription and visualizing technology through the visualized pictures to clarify thestructure, the type and distribution of sedimentary facies and microfacies, geometricalmorphology of the reservoir body, distribution of reservoir parameters and theirmicroscopic characteristic, the nature and distribution of the inner fluid and even theconstruction of geography model of the reservoir to calculate and comprehensiblyevaluate the reserves.This thesis first analyzes the status of the reservoir visualization software in Chinaand other countries and finds out that there is a blank of the domestic software. Byreading a large quantity of domestic and foreign research thesis, this thesis aims todevelop the technology required for oil reservoir visualization, and on this basis, finallydesigns the visualization system of GeoMountain.Reservoir visualization system consists of three main modules: reservoir modelingmodule,3D visualization module and the fracture interpretation module. In reservoirmodeling module, the thesis describes the two designing models of reservoirs workingarea and realization of the algorithm and of design. By establishing the structural model,the system complete the data input of the reservoir working area;3D visualizationmodule is responsible to apply OpenGL technology to draw a three-dimensional imagebased on models created and finally to simulate the actual working area. To display thesimulated working area more direct and vivid, the3D visualization module provides acomplete set of color-coded library to make the picture more beautiful and with moreinformation. In order to better display the internal structure, the module also provides aspecial slice-display, attribute filtering, etc; the fracture interpretation module mainly deals with the visualized display and interaction of the micro-seismic events. Thefracture interpretation module provides class-interpretation and interpretation of thereading and writing operations of the micro-seismic data files, completing the makingsof the two-dimensional image on the projecting surface of the micro-seismic events andproviding the functions of interactive interpretation of the cracks, which will make theentire reservoir visualization system more perfect and provide a more accuratesimulation of working area.Through the research and development of the visualization reservoir system, wewill create a set of subsystems with excellent performance and stability, which will lay asolid technical foundation and a software platform for promoting the description of theoil reservoirs and finally spread the visualized technology to the whole nation.
