With the rapid development of our country’s national economy, the demand for mineral resources of our country’s national production is growing. A large number of mined-out areas appeared when people are in the use of the exploitation of mineral resources. Those mined-out areas caused a great deal of potential threat to the construction’s security above it and nearby. Many geological disasters triggered by these mined-out areas also caused significant damage to the lives and property of the people. This paper made in-depth study on the underground empty areas and major geological disasters’ stability evaluation along the K309-K312segment of Chengdu-Kunming Railway. And also proposed valuable application governances. The main contents are as follows:Through access to relevant information and on-site field survey, we have made system analysis and summary of the basic situation of the mined areas and the engineering geological conditions in the region.We used geological radar to detected the distribution of the goaf under and near this section of the railway. We also calculated and analyzed the stress changes in the scope and intensity of the railway base above the mined-out areas. We elaborated the damage law of the gobs, surface deformation and flooring stability. Proposed the recommendations on the governance programs of the gobs. Through field investigation and combination of the K309-K312section of Chengdu-Kunming Railway’s worthy details, we evaluated the degree of risk of the Laguna mudslide at K311+651. We calculated the mudslide’s peak flow, flow velocity, total duration, curve high, impact, etc. We recommended on the prevention and treatment programs of the Laguna mudslide. Researched the mining spoil’s affection on the safety of the railway, judged the stability of the disposal areas and made spoil sliding checking in different conditions. Calculated spoil yard’s stress in different slag heap conditions, and the degree of influence on the rail runnel bellow. Proposed scientific recommendations to the spoil yard rehabilitation measures.
