IMU/DGPS-supported photogrammetry has been a type of key technology inaerophotogrammetry. GPS base station must been lie in within the scope of the area withrunning.However,there are no ways to lay GPS base station in the absence of the basiccontrol points or some difficult regions, which has prevented IMU/DGPS-supportedphotogrammetry from application.The development of IMU/PPP provides a new solution for IMU/DGPS-supportphotogrammetry. Although this technology has been widely applied in small scalemapping,there is on the way in large and medium scale mapping.According to real photogrammetric practice. the combined accuracy is analyzed andverified in large and medium scale mapping. A scientific and reasonable solution ofIMU/PPP-support photogrammetry has been work out in this paper. Through four areas indiverse terrain with different mapping scale, analyze the accuracy of PPP and DGPS,IMU/PPP integrated filter which is calculated by POSPac MMS5.3(the process softwareof GPS data); Analyze the accuracy of IMU/PPP-supported aerotriangulation. comparisonwith the result of the IMU/DGPS--support photogrammetric point determination by SSK(photogrammetric point determination software).The experimental results show that the design scheme of the IMU/PPP-supportedphotogrammetry can not consider frame line and base station layout in aerial design phase.The accuracy of PPP and IMU/PPP integrated filter meet requirements of evening tasks.With ground control points, IMU/DGPS-supported photogrammetry can fit thespecifications of the scale of1:500(flat)、1:1000(knap)、1:2000(hilly) and1:5000(alp)map which has achieved survey without ground control. All in all, experimental analysisdraw conclusion that the IMU/PPP-supported photogrammetry can reduce ground controlpoints with saving cost, shortening mapping period.
