SJ Construction Company is an important member of China State Construction Engineering Corporation which is the world’s top500enterprises. Through the joint unremitting efforts of all the staff, the company has got three Grade A general contractor qualification and five specialist sub-contractor qualification. The company’s business spreads more than20provinces across China and has undertaken construction projects and general contractor management in India, Yemen, Kuwait and other countries and regions.After half a century of development, SJ Construction Company has grown from small to large, from weak to strong, and has achieved gratifying results. However, facing the current increasingly fierce competition in the construction industry, SJ Construction Company is still meeting opportunities and challenges. Then, in such a market with high profit, high risk and intense competition, how should SJ Construction Company compete with their peers and occupy a place in the construction market? What is the level of competitiveness of this company? And how shall SJ Construction Company further enhance the level of its competitiveness. These are critical problems for the sustainable development for SJ Construction Company, and are also the core problems of this study. Based on this research background, under the guidance of the competitiveness theory, this study first analyzes the competition environment and present situation of SJ Construction Company, then expounds the major problems to enhance the competitiveness, and finally proposes the strategies to enhance competitiveness of the company.The main contents of this study are as below:(1) the first chapter, mainly elaborated this article selected topic reason;(2) the second chapter summarized the competitiveness of enterprises, based on reviewing the related literature at home and abroad, this paper analyzes and discusses the related theories of the competitiveness of enterprises;(3) the third chapter is the evaluation of the competitiveness of SJ construction company, to evaluate and analyze competitive SJ construction company from six dimensions, and based on the evaluation results, summed up the company’s competitive advantages and disadvantages;(4) the fourth chapter is the countermeasures to enhance the competitiveness of SJ construction company, puts forward five strategies to enhance SJ construction company competitiveness;(5) the fifth chapter is the conclusion part. The conclusions of this paper, puts forward the limitations of this study and the problems that need further study.The conclusions of this paper are:(1) Analyzes the competition environment. Including the analysis of external environment such as industry macro environment and industry structure;(2) Identify and evaluate the competitiveness of the company from the six aspects: market development ability, financial capability, technological innovation capability, production management capability, personnel development capability and customer satisfaction;(3) Proposes the strategies to enhance competitiveness of the company. To enhance the competitiveness,the company needs to grasp the competitive situation and clarify the competition strategy; to better cost control and enhance capital running ability; to focus on science and technology innovation and fostering the core competence; to implement the talent strategy and foster high-quality construction talents; to cultivate powerful customer relationship.
