A Research On Development Of Overseas And Ethnic Chinese In Japan And South Korea In New Period And Its Influence On China’s Investment And Trade

Overseas and ethnic Chinese have made great contributions to China’s economic and social development by capital import, technology and talent introduction, donations and charities, etc. since the reform and opening. With the rapid rise of China’s social economy and international status, the existence of overseas and ethnic Chinese, especially the economic strength of overseas and ethnic Chinese, attracts more and more attention from home and abroad scholars. In the time of economic globalization, especially in historic moment of China, Japan and South Korea set out to build FTA, it is significant to study the power that overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea contained in the activities of interaction with China as well as in the economic and trade contact among three countries.Most of the existing studies of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea use the method of history and sociology and lack systematic data. Moreover, studies of economic interactions between overseas and ethnic Chinese and China from the perspective of economics are rare. This just reflects the insufficient of the study of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea. In this paper, conditions of human resources of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea in the new period are introduced, and then study the part of assistance the overseas and ethnic Chinese played in investment and trade activities. The main contents are as follows:Determine the study object through the definition of related concepts. Reviews of the study of the related immigration theory, studies of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea, aim to make clear the thinking of this study, and put forward the study emphasis in this paper.Introduction of the status of overseas and ethnic Chinese human resources in new time and study of the effect overseas and ethnic Chinese made on investment and trade with China are the main content of this paper. Human resources of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea has been significantly improved by analyzing from the ancestral home distribution, present dwelling place distribution, occupational structure and economic status and size of population with large amount of data. The structure of investment to China from overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea has been upgrading by analyzing from the total amount of investment, regional distribution of investment, industry distribution with data and cases. Overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan have played a promotion part in Sino-Japanese trade by using cointegration analysis. Overseas and ethnic Chinese in South Korea also have played a promotion part in trade between China and South Korea by theory analysis from "preference effect","import substitution" and "cost effect".To utilize the resources of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea effectively, to promote future progress of economic integration among China, Japan and South Korea and to realize the benign interaction development, put forward the following policy suggestions:Build supporting system to utilize the resources of overseas and ethnic Chinese in Japan and South Korea, implement the strategy goals of "introduced to" and "going out". Drive foreign investment by investment from overseas and ethnic Chinese. Coordinate the policy toward overseas Chinese affairs and the study-abroad policy to attract talent studying abroad.
