With the development of the research in Business Model, the Business Model Innovation becomes an important research direction. Many scholars put their attentions on the dynamic mechanism of Business Model Innovation (BMI), which may be the result of external factors such as technology, market competition and political policy, or be affected by internal factors such as learning ability, innovation and entrepreneurship and so on.While no matter the external factor or the internal factor, to maximize the effect of BMI, it’s a must for the internal control information center of the enterprises——Top Management Team (TMT) to make it come into effect. Because it is only through their efforts to overcome resistances from internal environment and external environment of the enterprises, the effects of BMI can be achieved ultimately. But for a long time, researches on TMT with BMI are always in isolated situation, and few scholars have considered TMT and BMI together. Therefore, this paper aims to study on the relationship between characteristics of TMT and BMI, exploring the mechanism of characteristics of TMT to BMI.First of all, this paper generalizes the status quo between TMT and BMI on the basis of the study on business model and BMI theories in detail through the methods of literature research and theoretical analysis. Next, this paper builds the theoretical model between characteristics BMI and TMT like this way.At first, select the heterogeneity and the average of the size, age, education, tenure and background of TMT as independent variables, and make the five innovation dimensions including value network model, value proposition model, value delivery model, value creation model and interface rules as the dependent variables.Then, the paper verifies the hypothesizes put forward preceding part of the paper by means of quantitative analysis on the174gem listed companies, and get the conclusions that the size, average age, average education, average tenure heterogeneity, proportion of management background, professional background and executives shareholding ratio of TMT will affect the ways and levels of enterprises in carrying on BMI.Finally, based on the results of the empirical research, this paper puts forward some suggestions for enterprises to carry on BMI.
