Urbanization is an inevitable result and a necessary stage of the economicdevelopment of a country or region, also one of the most lasting and violent humanactivities. From the actual situation, the continuous progress of the urbanization not onlyconsumes a large amount of natural resources, but also brings a lot of pressure to theecological environment. The fog and haze in northern China in2013, is the obviousfootnote. Well, whether the urbanization makes a positive role in promoting the resourcesand the environment, that is, with the deepening of urbanization, whether it can improvethe ecological environment, reduce the pressure on resource; it is a problem to be solved inthis paper. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis method to studythe dynamic relationship between urbanization and resource environment of ShandongProvince. This paper builds a urbanization indicators from four levels: urbanization of thepopulation, urbanization of the economic, lifestyle and quality of life of urbanization andspatial urbanization, and build a resource environmental indicators from three levels: statusindicators, pressure indicator, progress indicators. The results show that the urbanization indicators and resourcesand environment indicators are cointegrated. From three angles, urbanization is still verydependent on resources and the environment, and has a certain positive effect onimprovement of resource environment supporting indicators, but show destabilizing effecton resources and environment progress indicators.
