At the same time, the speed of road construction is growing rapidly, which greatly promote the various logistics transport. On the other hand people self-drive tourism, business, visiting relatives, business and other things also increased rapidly, which greatly promoted the people’s demand of the motel. Compared to other types of economy hotel, the motel start later, so the motel customer demand has a relatively large research space.This article focuses on respondent’s perception of the motel in Changsha, and further discussed demand differences of different demographic characteristics, so as to induce demand characteristics of the respondents. At the early stage of the study, using the literature research, on the basis of collecting, sorting, relevant literature, sums up the motel research status at home and abroad and related theoretical basis, then using a questionnaire to collect the public information about the demand for a motel, and using mathematical statistics, using SPSS software for further analysis.Looked from the results of the survey, people doesn’t know motel well, the most part only heard of the term, but what is not known, the majority of respondents think the motel is a budget hotel, and think the motel price option is equivalent to the level of budget hotel. At present, people choose lodging places along the way is priority budget hotels and low star hotel; Compared to personalized experience, customers pay more attention to safety; Customer demand for the motel service is different.
