With deepening reform and opening up in china, China plays more important role in theworld economy, the manufacturing industry of our country has also increasingly become theworld’s manufacturing center, but which doesn’t match with it is that the basis of productquality in our country still very weak, quality assurance capacity still low, the overall qualityof products is not enough, and the frequent fluctuation of it. Faced with the fierce marketcompetition and diversification of product demand, the mode of production has changed fromhigh-volume to high-mix low-volume. Customer’s products quality requirements areconstantly improved, the impact of the international economic recession and other factors,high-mix low-volume manufacture must pay attention to quality improvement and improvetheir efficiency and competitiveness through continuous quality improvement.This thesis studies the feature of HMLV manufacture and the characteristics, advantagesand disadvantages, and applications of the8D theory which is mainly for handle customercomplaints by many manufacturing enterprises, particularly the automobile productionenterprises. On this basis, it discussed the significance, theoretical basis and conditions of itfor the quality improvement in this type of enterprises, and proposed improvement strategies.The empirical analysis of quality abnormal improvement by8D in the JH production provedits successful in the quality improvement, and obtained corresponding results. As the8Dshortcoming only concerned the problem-solving and may overlook overall performance ofthe quality improvement, in the theoretical research of quality improvement and qualityimprovement performance establish a quality performance assessment indicator system. Byusing the DEA to analyze the quality improve performance of JH concluded that theimproving performance is effectively, which showed the feasibility and validity for8D inHMLV quality improve from the practice.
