By restructuring so as to realize the economic restructuring, achieve thesustainable development of resource-based cities, This is the best way to reduce thecontradictions between economic development and resources, also can cut "curse" effects ofindustrial structure dependent on natural resources for economic growth.As a typicalresource-based cities of Datong, at this stage, is not the resource-exhausted city in the strictsense, also facing the need to transition of pressure, even has already begun to attempt, thesecomplex cases decided Datong cannot be directly applied to any existing transformation modelof industrial restructuring, must be according to the actual situation.This paper are based on qualitative analysis of industrial, tertiary industry development inDatong and shift-share method of quantitative analysis of the dynamic changes of theindustrial structure, summarized features of industrial development and industrial structure,economic development is highly dependent on coal resource, coal industry remains the pillarindustry, but on the economic development in Datong city "negative effects" is becomingincreasingly serious, must speed up the pace of industrial restructuring in Datong city.Studying on typical industrial transformation of resource-based regions successful abroadexperience and its inspiration to Datong, judge the transition phase-transformation in the earlystage of Datong, concluded that fostering emerging industries and the extension should betaken at the present stage of Datong coal industry chain integration composite industrytransformation mode of conclusion.
