China’s auto industry has been rapid development as a pillar industry of thenational economy since the1990s. The development of auto industry promotes thedevelopment of so many relevant industries; especially the automobile partsenterprises, so this ushers in the important development opportunities.I worked in a branch company of FAW in Changchun during working on aMaster of Business Administration, so I have a deep understanding to the companyproduction capacity, technical strength, and the research and development ability.Since2004, the main customers are less, the product structure is more onefold, andthe main production mode is a typical state-owned enterprise management mode. Theproduction capacity of company has been unable to meet customer demand growingproduction; management way has the obvious weaknesses from the running effect ofthe company in recent years. Compared with the Japan enterprises, capacity, productrejection rate high, the company’s production cost is too high, the pricecompetitiveness is no advantage. The fact proves who can excavate effectively thepotential of production process and improve the labor productivity, who will getcompetitive edge in the future. So eliminating of the production field waste, reducingthe production cost and improving manufacturing efficiency, and improving productcompetition will become the goal of China’s auto parts enterprise.The Toyota production system (TPS) has been recognized the most successfulmanagement mode in the car industry of the world, and the western scholars havesummarized the concept, the ideological, and the technical system as leanmanufacturing. TPS research has been spread all over the world; much research andextending TPS enterprise have got the considerable achievements. Toyotamanagement way pays attention to set up enterprise quality culture.TPS is the market constraints of the products, it must meet "many varieties and small batch" in Japanese auto industry after war; TPS is to save itself in the Europeand the United States which had already decided the mass production of theautomobile industry of the counter. After the exploration of many years, it graduallydeveloped and perfect mode of production and production management mode. Thefinal purpose of Toyota production mode is to completely eliminate the internalvarious waste of the enterprise, in order to improve the production efficiency, andfinally realize the maximization of enterprise profit. Why Toyota can succeed, I thinknarrowly to Toyota mode: we should solve problems effectively. This is the lack ofstate-owned enterprises, we should learn from this.Therefore, it is necessary to discuss for the Toyota production mode and toimport of China’s automobile industry. This is not only due to the Toyota is the worldautomobile industry in the world during two hundreds and thirty years after the bestcar manufacturing enterprise, but also at the present stage to the automobile industryin our country into the Toyota production way, to enhance China’s automobileenterprise production efficiency and product quality, reduce costs optimize theallocation of resources, promote the enterprise operation management level, enhancethe competitiveness of the automobile industry has important significance.
