With the development of our medical system reform, and the strong competition of domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, the overall structure of pharmaceutical industry has been changed. The pharmaceutical industry is on a critical period to have to enhance own ability to face the increasing demand of global pharmaceutical market. How to build the company’s core competence and continue to keep their business advantages have become an urgent problem need to be solved.In this study,I used PEST and SWOT tools to analyze the internal and external environment, based on the theory of company core competence and strategic management, to deep dive the core competitiveness of the world’s largest pharmaceutical company--Pfizer as the target, deeply analyzed from internal and external corporate operations, and other aspects of the core competitiveness to find that the most important completive advantages are strategic decision-making, innovation and company branding in Pfizer. As the result, the major reasons are respecting for the talent, providing effective training, compliance management, paying attention to communication and culture building. Referring to suggestions on how to enhance Pfizer’s core competitiveness, they are driving strategy into action to ensure the implementation, keeping innovation operation with efficient cost management. At last, take Pfizer advantages of cultivation in core competitiveness as references, making recommendations to further enhance the core competence of China’s pharmaceutical companies through the external capital operation and internal innovation efficient operation to achieve the core competence development, and solving the problems that there is no specific example to learn from and it also has the significant reference for the development of China’s pharmaceutical industry.
