The Study Of Economic Contribution Of The Information Industry In Liaoning Province

With the rapid development of information technology and Internet, the information industry based on the information technology has become the fourth industry following the traditional three industries by its continuous innovative vitality and unlimited prospects, and it has been recognized as the sunrise industry in the future of economic development. Information industry not only develops rapidly and creates value, but also has a strong industrial promotion and high permeability, so it constantly improves the productivity of the related industries and promotes the optimization and upgrading of traditional industries and the industrial structure. The development of the information industry brings the national and regional economic growth and the structural transformation of the economy, which creates a huge impact on economy. In China’s economic and social development process, the construction of information technology has been in an important position and developing the information industry has become a primary development strategy.In Liaoning Province, the information industry has been one of the most important industries that give priority to the development, and it has played an important role as one of the pillar industries for economic and social development. But we must notice that Liaoning Province, as an old industrial base of China, still has a long way to go. It is still very difficult to achieve the revitalization and realize the goal that it completes the integration of information technology and industrialization. According to the researches on Liaoning Provincial information industry and the relationship between information industry and economic growth, we can’t just stay in the parts of qualitative structural analysis, industrial clusters and macroscopic countermeasures etc. This paper studies the trends of Liaoning Provincial information industry and analyzes the influence on economic growth by using about15years relevant macroeconomic data, and further studies the influence on the adjustment of the economic structure and the traditional three industries.The article is divided into six sections to illustrate the contribution to the economic growth of the information industry. The first part is the introduction. It briefly discusses the research background, significance of this study, research methods and structure of this paper. The overall situation and framework of this paper are listed. The second part is a brief literature review of the basic theory of the information industry at home and abroad. The connotation and economic characteristics of information industry are introduced at first and then this paper displays a literature review on the latest research development of this field, which paves the way for the subsequent analysis. The third part is an analysis of trends and status of the development of the information industry in Liaoning Province. We can get that the information industry has become one of the pillar industries of the economy. The fourth part is the analysis of the influence of information industry on economic growth. The contribution to economic growth are divided into direct and indirect contributions, they are analyzed combining the actual economic data of economic growth. The paper founds the model of information industry’s contribution to economic growth, calculates the marginal contributing ratio of information industry and the three major industries to economic growth using multiple linear regression analysis. The fifth part is the analysis of the influence of information industry on economic structure. This part first makes a qualitative analysis of two aspects which are the upgrading of the industrial structure and the influence on the traditional industries, following that it establishes a VAR Model of the information industry and traditional industries to make a dynamic study. At the end of this part, the paper uses the impulse response function and variance decomposition method to study the dynamic impact and finally makes the summary of this chapter. The last part of this paper includes the conclusions and prospects. According to the whole analysis and research work, it puts forward several noteworthy issues and simple solution ideas.Through this paper’s qualitative analysis and empirical study, we get the conclusion that there is an increasing contribution of information industry to economic growth in Liaoning Province. On the one hand, the proportion of the output value of the information industry to GDP is gradually increasing, on the other hand, there is a significant impact on the production efficiency and the optimization of the economic structure. According to the correlations between the traditional industries and information industry, the information industry has a relatively weak effect on the primary industry and a strong effect on the third industry, but in the long run, it promotes the development of the traditional three industries. At the same time, we must notice that the impact on the three industries has volatility and several uncertainty risks exist. Moreover, the information industry may needs a long time to give full play to the role, especially in the primary industry. Therefore, many problems still need to be addressed in the process of the development of information industry.
