Research On Process Quality Control Of L Company’s Products Based On First Pass Yield

In the process of internationalization, L Company encounters problemsthat the order delivery cycle is shortened and quality requirement ishighly strict. This thesis focuses on the management of the FPY(FirstPass Yield), to conform to requirements on order delivery and productquality.Firstly, apply the process approach theory to study the current situationof FPY control. The Pareto charts, countermeasure table, trend chart andother quality tools are also applied to clarify the problems existing insubstandard FPY. Secondly, in order to achieve the FPY target, adoptcause-and-effect diagram to perform analysis on the causes for theproblems existing in FPY management and deep analysis on problems incomponent management, operation process management, decisionprocess management and monitoring process management in theperspective of whole product process. Finally, propose pointed solutions,establish the mechanism of analyzing problems by suppliers stationed infactory and optimize component management process;. For repetitiveproblems, post-game analysis system is also introduced, and FMEA(Failure mode and effects analysis) tool is applied to preventproblems in operation process.‘Round table’ and ‘Speak up’ system areestablished to solve the problem of negative attitude and weak belongingsense of staff; quality assessment mechanism and quality proposal systemare implemented to enhance the employees’ poor quality sense. Moreover,reliability analysis and diagnosis guarding are set for measurementsystem to optimize decision process management. Meanwhile, thewhole-process FPY control is further detailed as monitoring onacceptability of key process, with control chart introduced to monitor theprocess quality effectively.The achievements of the study are embodied in establishing a set ofeffective control method, proposing the method of analyzing problemsexisting in process input, product realization and process output,accordingly under the direction of process approach theory, andscientifically&reasonably taking the control measures by applyingquality management tools properly. These proven measures and methodsshorten the time and cost required in applying proper quality managementtools, which not only offers great reference value for L company toestablish factories in other countries, but also provides reference for other enterprises to improve their FPY management level.
