Since1996, China’s urbanization rate gets rapid growth at an annual average ofnearly1.4%, and the urban population is higher than the rural population for the first timein2011. In recent years, the continuous improvement of the level of urbanization inChina basically conforms to the trend of world economic development, which plays animportant role in promoting the country’s industrialization process, stimulating domesticconsumption and transferring rural surplus labor to solve the farming problems. However,there are still many issues in China’s urbanization, which severely restricts the furtherimprovement of the level of urbanization and the development of China’s economy.In the article, the main problems and solutions about China’s urbanization processare studied by the method of literature, comparative analysis and the method ofcombining empirical research and normative research. There are four parts in the articlebesides introduction. The first part is the basic theory of urbanization, including urbanconnotation, mechanism and general laws of urbanization; The second part is the processof urbanization in China and the problems in it. The main problems of urbanization areincluding: low urbanization overall level, further expansion of the urban-rural gap in theprocess of urbanization, irrational urban-scale structure, regional differences ofurbanization level and serious "urban disease"; the third part is the experience ofurbanization in developed countries for reference, which mainly draws on the experiencein Britain, Germany and Japan; the fourth part are the solutions to the problems ofurbanization in China.
