Time flies, after joined the WTO (World Trade Organization), China hasweathered the tenth year already. As the top priority of the national economicdevelopment industry, the automobile has also experienced the unprecedentedopportunities and challenges over the past decade. Auto tariffs has reduced to13.4percent from original3-digit numbers in2001, which ever brought the worry to thepeople for that the Chinese auto industry will be wiped out due to this reason at thattime. However, the fact is that10years after accession, with Chery, Geely, BYD whoare the representative groups of the new forces of national brands got the lawful―Zhunsheng‖certificate, the dreams of the car fly into ordinary people’s familybecomes true through these brands own efforts even after the Government announcedthat the car is no longer limitthe context of the price. Besides, almost all of theinternational automobile companies came to China for the vision of fully share in thishuge market. In the past decade, the domestic car production and sales growth frommore than200million to1800million, China also became the No.1for globalautomotive production and marketing of the world.However, behind numerous halos, we still clear to see that the auto partsmanufacturing industry who is fully reflected in the overall national economy, thesupply way for the core parts is still more based in CKD parts imported directly fromoverseas due to the weak capacity for the new product development management. Howto enhance the ability for response to the increasing fierce market competitions andOEMs’ high quality, low cost, short development leadtime harsh demands becomes tothe unavoidable challenges placed in front of every auto parts enterprises. Therefore,how to establish a correct and effective process for the new product development andrun it in excellent and effectively way, how to enhance the capability to control thedevelopment stages become to the top poriority issue we need to focus on.This paper is on the basis of analysis to the current new product developmentprocess and the problems face to by the domestic auto parts enterprises, based on thecharacteristics of the national auto parts development industry, with the method ofproblem solution/risk analysis, to raised how to make "stage gates"-"gate controlsystem" to be used in NPD development process for China’s auto parts industry, andhopes that can provide the standardized, systematic ideas for new product developmentmanagement. Research prioritie includes the analysis for current NPD process, PDMA theory for development, structure and working principle of JS Company "gate control"system in problem solving and risk mitigation. Introduce how to help the localenterprises to find the way for towards to the internationalization through use ofcentralized management, KPI indicators for program tracking, continue improvementof program management maturity assessment.
