Research On Performance Evaluation System Of Exhibition Venues In Shanghai

With the rapid development of our country’s economy, exhibitionindustry is also booming. As the most important bases of the exhibitionindustry, exhibition venues are often constructed by the government. Thenhow to realize the public warfare while at the same time achieve economicinterests has attracted the attention of both the government and the public. Inthis situation, it is obliged for the government as well as the operators toevaluate the operating performance so that they can administrate, monitor andsupervise the exhibition venues effectively.Through analysis of documents, interviewing relative experts and withthe BSC as the main guiding principle, this study collects32items that canreflect the performance of exhibition venues and forms the questionnaire.Then by conducting the preliminary and formal researches and applying SPSS15.0software to do explorative factor analysis, six1st-level indexes and222nd-level indexes are screened and identified for evaluating the performanceof exhibition venues.1st-level indexes include financial data, customersatisfaction, the size and number of exhibition activities, management level,enterprise growth and public warfare. Finally, the study uses Delphi methodand AHP to specify the contribution of every index in the assessment indexsystem of operating performance of exhibition venues in Shanghai.This research has some significance in improving the organizationalperformance assessment system in our country. The assessment index systemcreated by this article can be used as tool to evaluate operators’ performance, improve their management, and to maximize the effectiveness of exhibitionvenues in Shanghai.
