Study And Application Of Quality Management In Powder Painting Company Based On Statistic Process Control (SPC)

Many powder coating enterprises implement ISO9001Quality Management System(QMS) as a method for improving their quality level. But only depending on traditional human quality management, enterprises can’t solve these complicated quality problems. So informationalized and digitized quality management become the consequent option. The application of Statistic Process Control (SPC) prove to be an essential way of improving quality management level for powder coating enterprises.This article sketches quality management development history, painting industry current situation and the necessity of implementing SPC, also analysis deeply control chart and Cpk-the key tools of SPC, and integrate with enterprises’situation, using control chart to analysis and monitor these primary parameters of pretreatment solution concentration, curing temperature, and film thickness. First select control charts, definite quality characteristics and sampling plans, collect the data of the parameters, then validate the correction of chosen control charts, establish the control chart using the data, calculate Cp and Cpk when charts are stable, extend the control charts if the process capabilities are satisfied, then monitor and modify them, at last draw a conclusion according to the actual effect.Through the application of the tools, on-the-spot operators could find unusual fluctuations promptly, then take correct actions for the deviation of degreasing solution, thickness and temperature, and make considerable reduction of non-conforming parts which are with problems of specks, non-uniform coverage, orange peel, discoloration etc. Consequently, enterprises are able to raise1st product yield, improve quality level, simultaneously could make good use of resource, reduce both product and control cost,and increase profit.
