A long period of time after the reform and opening up, the governing philosophy of our government has always been "taking economic construction as the center, giving priority to efficiency with due consideration to fairness". In this concept, most enterprises in China are pursuing the maximization of corporate interests as its own business objectives and maximum impetus. Most companies believe that the implementation of corporate social responsibility will increase the costs, so, they escape the social responsibility of enterprises which have to perform one after another. Under this background of government’s policy, on the one hand, China’s economy is growing rapidly; but on the other hand, along with the economic take-off, companies often make some bad deed, such as:wasting the resources, polluting the environment, deteriorating the relationship between labor and enterprises, harming the interests of consumers and other stakeholders, so much things highlighting companies’lack of integrity and social responsibility. This issue in the food industry is particularly prominent. March15th,2010, CCTV broadcasted a special program:"fitness pig’truth". This event, on the one hand, it reflects that there still have been some leaks in food safety’s supervision and inspection; on the other hand, it highlights meat enterprise’s lack of business ethics. In this incident, the Shuanghui group’s branch didn’t only damage the interests of the consumer, but also caused its own great losses, the degree of consumer’s trust declined rapidly, its quotient of market drop down continuously, its net profit fell more than50%the same year. The "Shuanghui Clenbuterol" Event drawn people’s attention to the quality and safety of enterprise’s product again, the whole society become more care about how to increase meat enterprise operators’consciousness of social responsibility, how to promote meat companies strengthening their social responsibility and how to protect the product quality and safety.This article will take the social responsibility of meat enterprises as my research object, I will always contact with the "Shuanghui Clenbuterol" Event closely, reflect the lack of meat plant’s CSR. This paper describes the origin and development of CSR’s ideas firstly; then, introduces the theoretical basis of CSR and its concept, dimensions and contents. And then, analyzes the status and characteristics of China’s meat industry, and then using the theory of stakeholder to analyze the meat company’s CSR, make the object of the meat plant’s CSR and content clearly and definitely. And then, by means of introducing the Shuanghui Group and reviewing the "Shuanghui Clenbuterol" Event, the paper explores the problems when the meat enterprises undertake its CSR and the reason why they practice badly. At last, the paper gives several reasonable advices to enhance meat plants’CSR from the three aspects of government society and enterprises. This paper broadens the field for CSR’s research and application. It has some academic values and has some the reference value in promoting the meat enterprises’CSR of China. |
