The Research On Quality Of XBRL Instance Documents In China

The XBRL financial reports of Shenzhen Stock Exchange began to work in January2005. In2009, the official platform of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange-the XBRL information service platform provides all periodic reports of more than740listed companies about the latest five years in Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Although the Shenzhen Stock Exchange hopes that this interactive Extensible Business Reporting Language tagged data can add value to the company’s financial report, the important prerequisite is that these XBRL documents are accurate and reliable. If the original XBRL documents contained inaccurate data or other major problems, not only listed companies will lose credibility and be in a disadvantage position, but also data-users will lose confidence in this data and abandon the use of XBRL reporting. This paper focuses on evaluating the correctness of the XBRL reports with disclaimers in Shenzhen Stock Exchange, which submitted directly on the XBRL listed company information service platform.The result of this research make the reasonable expectations of the correctness of XBRL reporting mandatory reporting. Despite the improvement of the XBRL standard and related technology could reduce some errors and the possibility of the error with the proficiency, but could not totally avoid these errors.So this study confirm these new problems, and provide some recommendations to avoid or solve these problems.The content and structure of this paper are designed as follows:The first chapter is the introduction. It mainly introduced the background, significance of research ideas, architecture, research methods, analysis of the path and innovation.The second chapter is related literature review. From the perspective of technological innovation, I describe the inevitability of XBRL, the advantage of XBRL, XBRL on accounting and auditing by foreign literature introduction.And also from the technology promotion and development perspective, I display the theoretical results, challenges and the development of XBRL research in our country.The third chapter is the theoretical basis. This chapter introduces the basic XBRL technology.Comprehensive introduced and analyzed the XBRL framework, including the XBRL technical specification, XBRL classification standard, XBRL instance document. And XBRL instance document generation principle the description of the focus.Chapter four mainly provide the related development processes on XBRL instance documents. This chapter describes four aspects, including the XBRL development in the United States, XBRL application status, classification criteria and the existing classification standards of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, I focus on rationalizing the stage and displaying the results of XBRL development processes in China.Chapter five designed the statistical method and experiment analysis. Based the platform of XBRL information service, we quantify the problem of XBRL instance document and deeply analysis the code of these instance document,and finally point out the main factors of these problemsChapter six make the conclusions and proposed future research directions.Based on the current audited accounting information standard, this paper classify and evaluate the quality of financial information XBRL, analysis the potential problem in the process of making and displaying of XBRL instance document, and also provide improvements for the flow process of the enterprise financial information XBRL in our country.The inadequacies of this article are that the statistical sample size is not big enough which could have some impacts to analysis. At the same time we could not aquire the specific information of XBRL instance document flow process, we can not clearly define the responsibility of all establishments in this process and make more specific comments and suggestions.
