Traditional village and town is an important carrier of our history and national culture, however, the high cultural level and the low standard of use, Reckon the development of traditional villages and towns struggling, the sustainable tourism development and use of it not only to promote the local economy and social development, but also made outstanding contributions to carry forward the traditional Chinese history and culture.How to develop the traditional village and town has become an important issue of the current study. This paper start form the traditional village and town, illustrated the value of tourism development through the analysis of basic content and resources, combined with case of Yaowan, put forward ideas of the tourism development.This paper take the case of Yaowan town, discussed the tourism development of the traditional town and village. The article is divided into four main parts:the part of the article introduces the research background and significance, followed gave a brief commentary on the study of domestic and international tourism about the traditional village, and proposed research contents and methods of the article. The first chapter expanded from the traditional towns and tourist values, First described the basic connotation of China’s traditional towns and villages form the definition of town and village, formation and development and the characteristics and geographic; Second, discussed the resources of the traditional towns and villages of village patterns, economic life, social activities and culture, analyzes and summarizes the value of the resources of traditional towns and villages on this basis, shows the need for tourism development of traditional towns and villages; At last, shows China’s traditional status quo and existing problems of tourism by combined some developed traditional towns and villages, for the following specific development of the case how to avoided the same problems. The second chapter, paper begin the study of Yaowan case, the first section briefly describes the natural conditions and socio-economic situation of Yaowan; Second section data history and traditional culture of Yaowan based on local historical;The last section made a detailed analysis and evaluation of tourism resources. According to Yaowan generate background and analysis of tourism resources of the second chapter, the last chapter discussed Yaowan town’s tourism development, including tai chi spatial distribution, seven habitat area of entrance integrated service area, the millennium town charm zone, the canal with a big mention landscapes, the center river recreation zone, after the river of creative industries area, hydrophilic health leisure area, waterfront functional division set up, the project of the millennium charm ancient street and the protection of system construction. The conclusion section summarized the article’s flaws and shortcomings, prospect tourism research of traditional towns and villages.
