Research On Cost Estimation Of Project In Project Family Based On Case Based Reasoning

The development of information technology and the global economicintegration gave birth to the dynamic enterprise competition environment. With astrong ability to adapt to the flexible, project management is being used by more andmore enterprises as organizational management mode. Fast and accurate project costestimation are becoming one of the key technologies influencing the agility andcompetitiveness of enterprises. Therefore, this paper integrates advantages ofWBS-Based and Case-based method to structure fast cost estimation model ofproject in project family based on case based reasoning (PFCBR), and designs thecorresponding cost estimation system.First, this paper discusses the project family and its work breakdown structure,and puts forward a group work breakdown structure for project cost estimation(CGWBS), and adjusts the WBS structure, the WBS elements and so on. Then, thecomentropy is used to element attribute reduction. At the same time, the articleintroduces the project configuration management for project cost estimation.Secondly, based on the defect analysis of the traditional CBR, this paperelaborates the estimation strategy of reduction dimension and the hierarchicalretrieval cost estimation model. Then, the project family hierarchical case base isstructured based on the group work breakdown structure. This paper put forward themeans of case representation, the calculation of local similarity method of differenttype attributes, the hierarchical retrieval algorithms of cases. This algorithmdecompose and extract cases from top to bottom, at last total project cost is obtainedby bottom-up calculating costs of WBS elements layer by layer. Finally, this paperdiscussed case evaluation and preservation strategy.Finally, in chapter5, this paper use Delphi to design the outlook for the systemand Access as the backend database, develop the project cost estimation systembased on CBR (PFCBR system), this system consists of three main functionalmodule: project cost estimation, case base management, GWBS templatemanagement. Then, the PFCBR system is compared with traditional CBR costestimation system, the results show that the method in this paper is indeed betterthan traditional CBR cost estimation method.
