With the ideas, ways and methods on enterprise production, logistics distribution, commodity trading, and information exchange causing profound changes frequently, Enterprise need urgently to seek various effective measures to enhance the market competitiveness. As an effective measures, the integration of transportation and inventory can help to reduce logistics cost, improve logistics operation efficiency and service level. So the thesis is aimed to research the integrated optimization model and algorithm of inventory and transportation in VMI.In this thesis related literature and research achievements at home and abroad are reviewed. Related theories on VMI, inventory control and transportation scheduling are summarized. Theoretically, internal driving force and the necessity of transportation and inventory integration in VMI are expounded, and their integration mechanism is analyzed based on the cooperative game theory, for a "single suppliers, many distributors" logistics distribution network with single species, with the optimization target of seeking for the optimal inventory strategies and transportation distribution decisions and minimizing the logistics total cost, the integrated model of inventory and transportation in VMI is constructed; a iterative algorithm embedded with genetic algorithm is designed to solve the model; an example is analyzed and the results verify the rationality and feasibility of the model and algorithm.
