| Due to the particular industry background, Explosive industries have been supervised by the authority to arrange the production, sale and applications for a long time. Explosives industries have been in a monopolistic position in the market. With the accession to the WTO, China is committed to the rapid pace of reform and opening up of the monopoly industries. China’s civil explosive manufacturing companies began to face the dual pressures of international and domestic markets and have gradually adapted to the new competitive environment. However, because of the small group of local protected market, most of the civil explosive manufacturing companies are still on-going the traditional production mode of operation, especially in its inventory management and control area. There is not the introduction of advanced supply chain management concept which makes the overall market competitiveness of China’s civil explosives companies need to be further enhanced. From this perspective, it is necessary to raise the inventory control issue to improve the competitiveness of the industry as a whole. With the introduction of advanced supply chain management concepts, the real focus need to be put on how to improve business inventory management and control which ultimately achieve the enterprise inventory optimization and enhance their market competitiveness.On the basis of advanced supply chain inventory management concept, this paper describes the inventory management and control methods. Through the example of the enterprise analysis, it verifies the actual value and role of inventory control methods in use. The first part introduces the research background and significance of the subject, and briefly reviewed the history of the development of the Inventory Control and Research. The second part introduces the basic principles and methods of inventory management and control, including the introduction of the stock concept and the role of inventory management performance, how to set the type of ordering system, independent demand inventory management and how to carry out the management of uncertainty.
