Land use/land cover change research is an important part of IGBP and IHDP. As its core program, land use/land cover change (LUCC) is one of the hotspots of the Global Change Research. In this study, we use Jiangling County of Hubei Province as the example to do the research. Through the collection of land use data and economic data from2001to2010, we researched the changes of total amount, structure and the dynamic of change of land use and their influencing factors of Jiangling County. And we can know that:1、In the changes of agricultural land from2001to2010, arable land change is the fastest one, and followed by the garden, woodland and grassland. The only number of growing trend is other agricultural land.2、 The total number of construction land increased1780.09hectares from2001to2010,and its growth rate was18.33%, with an average annual increase of178.01hectares of land for construction. And industrial and mining sites to increase the area, an increase of1535.20hectares; water conservancy facilities Secondly, an increase of209.12hectares; transportation land35.77hectares.3、 The total number of unused land reduced105.25ha in Jiangling County from2001to2010, with an average annual decrease of10.53hectares. The rate of decrease for unused land was2.65%, with an average annual rate of0.27%.4、 The variation of Jiangling County land-use type show that the arable land expanded to the southeast constantly, the garden to the northwest, the woodland to the north, the other farmland to the northwest, residential and industrial land to the northeast, transportation land to the southwest, water conservancy facilities to the northeast, Unused land to the northwast.5、 to Jiangling county land use change driving mechanism, the driving factor is the most remarkable social development driving factor, followed by agricultural production factors, but to the total power of agricultural machinery, the land use change is not significant; living standard influence factor on Jiangling county land use change effect comparison of significant driving factor is the city residents per capita disposable income and total retail sales of social consumer goods; economic growth driving factor in general to Jiangling county land use change effect is not obvious.
