With the deepening of the western development strategy implemented and theParty’s policies to enrich the Xinjiang residents further implemented, Xinjiangresidents’ income is increased, and the quality of life is continuously improved. But atthe same time, the expanding income gap has become one of the key factors thathinder further economic development. To a certain extent residents’ income gap existsis reasonable, but when the gap becomes too large and can not be controlled, livingstandards of residents will inevitably be affected, and it is more likely to affect socialstability, thereby affecting the rapid development of the national economy. Therefore,it has a very important significance to how to correctly understand the current incomegap in Xinjiang, effectively regulate various factors that result in large income gapand finally to achieve the goal of building a Well-off society in Xinjiang. The article is divided into five sections to study the problem of the Xinjiangincome gap. Firstly, by the theory on income gap of domestic and foreign scholars, Ihave a basic understanding of the income gap in Xinjiang, the theoretical frameworkand research method of this paper. Secondly, through the five levels to analyze thecurrent situation of the income gap in Xinjiang. By per capita disposable income ofXinjiang urban residents change, to analyze the extent of the urban residents incomegap, we can see the income gap between high-income households and low-incomehouseholds is widening; analyzing the income gap between urban and rural residentsby comparing to urban and rural incomes, we can see Xinjiang urban-rural incomeratio has maintained at more than3:1for a long time, It will take a very long period oftime to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents; by the analysis ofdifferent industries, for Xinjiang, we can see the emerging industry, high-tech industryis gradually becoming the high-income industries, traditional industries of agricultureand animal husbandry and food and beverage industry with relatively low incomes, and to be further improved; by comparative analysis of the average wage of workers in different regions of Xinjiang, we can see the income gap is obvious betweensouthern and northern regions. And location, traffic condition and resource advantageare main factors to determine the regional income gap; by simple comparison ofXinjiang residents’ income gap and China’s income gap, we can see whether it is theper capita net income of rural residents or urban residents disposable income, the gapbetween Xinjiang and the country is constantly expanding. Finally, use the formula that Hu Zuguang proposed to calculate the Ginicoefficient of urban and rural unity to calculate the Xinjiang’s data for a decade. Theresult shows that a decade in Xinjiang Gini coefficient is always close to0.5, in2009to0.69. Xinjiang residents’ income gap is over the warning line of0.4of internationalincome distribution gap, indicating that, on the present situation there is no easingtrend. At the same time, referring to a few scholars in income distribution indexsystem in this article, combined with the specific circumstances of Xinjiang10dataindicators selected from the level of economic development, the level of urbanization, industrial structure, and development of education as independent variables, and theGini coefficient as the dependent variable, build a multiple linear regression equationmodel to analyses the issue. In this paper, the last chapter is the thinking andrecommendations to narrow the income gap of the residents of Xinjiang. Through theanalysis, it can break from the urban-rural dual economic structure, the use of theadvantages of resources to optimize the industrial structure, expand employment andreemployment, intensify development of education, vigorously develop the culturalresources to achieve the goal of narrowing the income gap.
