The development and progression of advertisement has approached its30th’s yearwhich has paved a way between the China advertising industry and the wholeworld.There has a necessary connection in the development and progression of advertisementfor the government’s helping and supporting and also is the begining of reforming ourmarket-oriented higher education. Comparing with the developed country inadvertisement, we have a host of things to learn and to draw lessons from while ouradevertising industry needs to carve out our own creative career with Chinesecharacteristics.William Burns Buck thinks advertising is not a science but an art of convicing andwhat an artist needs to beak through is to abide by the rules of science and then reversethinking appears during the process of advertising ideas. It refers to a kind of thinkingwhich violates natural laws, changes individuals’ regular thinking pattern and evencreats a shotcut to success. The reverse thinking can make complicated questions simpleand demanding questions easy. It has three forms which are inverse reverse thinking,transformation reverse thinking and disadvantage reverse thinking. Among variousfactors ranging from contructure and character of the material, perspective of thequestion and condition of cause and effect, reverse thinking conducts us to fully analyseopposite sides of the material and find a breakthrough in resolving obstacles.Thecharacteristics of reverse thinking complies with the rules of making it real, arty, critical,original and innovative in the advertising ideas strategy which generates an increasingpenetrating, attaching and transmitting power.An advertising which is memorable to audiences can be more successful andconvincing, so the interesting advertising offers a helping hand beyond all doubt.According to advantages and disadvantages of different media carriers, advertisorschoose suitable advertising media and give another choice towards the interestingadvertising as well. The reason why interesting advertising has succeed lies in itshumorous, implicit, creative, interactive and memorable contents. So, what I want toexpress mainly here is how reverse thinking functions during the process of advertisingideas. In another word, it is the expression and function of reverse thinking. Throughanalysing comprehensive advertising cases successfully, the expression of reversethinking can be classified into6types which are proportion reverse, space reverse,sequence reverse, material reverse, behaviour reverse and content reverse. A clearclassification and an accurate grasp of the expression make a contribution to clearingour thoughts during the process of advertising ideas; therefore, we can better expresscommon impacts of creative ideas and transmiting media. Reverse thinking is not only asharp sword to inspire advertising ideas but also the highest springboard in thedevelopment of advertising. At present, we can see more and more impressiveadvertisement that motivates our new advertisors and accelerates our progressive paces.
