With the development of tourism, residents’ perceptions of tourism impact and attitude are obtained increasing attention in different subjects’ research, and tourism geography is the most important one. Foreign scholars have done a lot of research on it, as early as1970s, by contrast, the similar research was growing in China from1990s. These research focused on rural tourism sites, general resorts and integrated tourist destination, however, less focus on spaces and scales of city. In view of the factor, this paper will select Sanya to be the object of the study. Sanya is developing rapidly from the new program came up which is for improving Hainan to be an international tourism island. However, there are more and more problems between residents and tourism because of the promotion of tourism activities and the great number of visitors. Therefore, in order to achieve sustainable and healthy development of Sanya tourism, analysis on local residents’perceptions of tourism impact and attitude are very important which is useful for the government to receive more suggestions came from the locals.According to a lot of references, the topic of this paper is about the Sanya residents’ perceptions of tourism impact and attitude. I will do research on it based on sixty three different indexes which are related to the sense of place attachment, the attitude of tourism development and the impact on tourism. Moreover, this paper also analyze differences among different behavior subjects’perceptions and attitudes. Finally, recommendation to Sanya government in view of the reality will be provided in the last part of this paper.
