Study On The Relationship Between The Industrial Structure And The Structure Of Foreign Trade In Yunnan Province

In the open economy，the sound and balanced economic development of onecountry or area depends on the collective function of internal economy and externaleconomy. Internally，the economic development of one country or area relies on thelevel of industrial structure；externally，foreign trade structure can reflect theinternational division status and international competence of one country or area.Industrial structure is the basis forming foreign trade structure，and foreign tradestructure optimization can facilitate the upgrading of industrial structure to a certainextent. They are in the dialectical unification relation. Therefore, it is significant toexplore the relationship between foreign trade structure and industrial structure.This article uses the knowledge about Industrial Economics、InternationalEconomics and econometrics to take a qualitative and quantitative research on therelation and mutual action principle between industrial structure and foreign tradestructure. The main contents are in four parts. The first part sums up the domestic andforeign literatures, illustrating the theories related to industrial structure and foreigntrade structure，and summarizing the mutual action principle between industrialstructure and foreign trade structure to provide theoretical basis for later empiricalanalysis. The second part sums up and analyzes the existing problems in the industrialstructure and foreign trade and their structure evolution course and the currentdevelopment condition. Taking the data of1991—2010年as the basis，it introducesthe changes of twenty years’ export and import structure and industrial structure inYunnan province. By employing the co-integration test and the Granger-causality test,the third part indicates that there exists a long-term stable relationship betweenindustrial structure and foreign trade structure. The fourth part is the empiricalconclusion analysis and policy advice.Through the study，the article can draw the following conclusions：（1）thereexists a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between industrial structure change and export structure change. And they are in positive relation of mutual facilitation.The Granger-causality test shows that industrial structure change and export structurechange are cause and result mutually.（2）there exists a long-term stable equilibriumrelationship between industrial structure change and export structure change. Theimport structure change of Yunnan has positive facilitating influence on industrialstructure. The Granger-causality test shows that industrial structure change andimport structure change are one-way cause and result. Import structure change is theGranger-causality of industrial structure change and industrial structure change is notthe Granger-causality of import structure change.Based on empirical conclusion，the article put forward the following advice：（1）continue perfecting Yunnan market economy system construction and set upindustrial policies facilitating the benign interaction between Yunnan industrialstructure and foreign trade structure；（2）optimize export structure to accelerate theupgrading of industrial structure（3）optimize import structure to heighten theinfluence of import structure on industrial structure；（4）further optimize industrialstructure and facilitate the upgrading of foreign trade structure.
