With the development of market economy and the quickening of economic globalization, the drawbacks of Chinese construction enterprises begin to surface. The backward management levels, the insufficiency of the technical abilities and especially the slow update speed of the enterprise knowledge have made the construction enterprises face more and more competitive pressures. With the advent of knowledge economy, knowledge management is widely used in many corporations and organizations as one management method, and has gained great social and economic benefits. It points out the direction for the construction enterprises, especially the large scale construction enterprises, to raise their competitive capacity. This paper tries to integrate knowledge management with construction enterprise project management to increase the update speed of enterprise knowledge, and then it will improve the large scale construction enterprises’management and technical level and eventually improve the competitive capacity of whole construction industry.Drawing on the theoretic researches of the domestic and foreign scholars and the practical experiences of project management in construction enterprises, using some research methods such as system analysis and deductive reasoning, this paper first elaborates the concrete content of the large scale construction enterprise knowledge in the frame of construction project life cycle, and identifies the large scale construction enterprise knowledge management’s object and scope. Then, this paper analysis the activities’characteristics of the large scale construction enterprise knowledge management from different angles and levels. On this basis, this paper constructs a flow model graph of large scale construction enterprise knowledge management, and gives a specific instruction with the example of project progress management. In allusion to this new management pattern, this paper subsequently studies on the innovation which the large scale construction enterprises must make in corporate culture, organization structure. Incentive mechanism and management technologies, and then constructs an new large scale construction enterprise organization structure pattern, an new incentive mechanism which can promote the workers’knowledge management activities and knowledge management tools which apply to the large scale construction enterprises. At the last, this paper studies on the performance appraisal system which can help continuously improve the large scale construction enterprise knowledge management activities, constructs one applicable evaluation index system, and then incorporates its operating mechanism using some quantitative analysis methods such as Analysis of Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation.Theoretically, this paper’s researches enrich the theory system of knowledge management through the researching on the large scale construction enterprise knowledge management and give some original opinions such as the new knowledge management flow graph which is base on the SECI. Practically, this paper gives the large scale construction enterprises a more perfect and more operative knowledge management method system which not only contains the object and the workflow of knowledge management, but also contains the supporting systems which can make sure the knowledge management’s smooth implement and the performance appraisal system which can continuously improve the activities of knowledge management.
