Transport distribution is one of the most important links in the logistics system. Along with the higher space of the logistics turnover, the storage is becoming insignificance while the distribution is becoming more important. The cost of distribution is about half of the total logistics cost. As a traditional distribution method, zonal distribution is widely used for its characteristics such as easy to plan, assign and suitable for various kinds of problems. In addition, the zonal distribution method can be used in the LS-VRP and distribution center allocation problems. The traditional zone method can’t satisfy the real-time and veracity demands of the modern logistics. So the research of intelligent and automatic zone method is needed. There is also lack for the evaluation of the zone scheme.After the study of the literatures about the zonal distribution, along with the knowledge of transportation engineering and space zonal, select the accessibility, connectivity and closure as the parameters of the distribution zone evaluation. After the data analysis, find the functional relation between the parameters and the distribution mileage. In the simulation, the error between the predicted value calculated by the function with the reality mileage is0.38%and0.35%within0.1s. It is proved that the evaluation function is can evaluate the zone scheme accurately and quickly.Then the paper propose the two stage zone method based on the density heuristic and Tabu search. The first step is using the density method zone to find a initial scheme. This method consider the locations of the receive points as well as the reality road condition. This step can get the solution with8.6%less distribution mileage within0.152s. Then use the Tabu search method to optimize the solution. It is improved that the Tabu search can calculate fast and get a better solution.
