As economy of Changsha continuously growing, more and more people own cars, naturally, self-driving tourism becomes popular with the car owners, which makes an important part in Changsha travelling market. Self-driving tourism is not strange for Chinese, it spreads fast among car owners, as a result, people pay much attention to study on self-driving tourism. In recent years, people made lots of research on this field, but systematical analysis on self-driving tourists’ consumer behavior characteristics in a certain place is not well carried out. The research is a supplement to self-driving tourists’consumer behavior research in middle-sized city like Changsha, that makes great theoretical and practical significance in improving the tourists’ consuming taste, enriching the culture of self-driving tourism, and promoting the development of self-driving tourism in Changsha. From the perspective of tourism consuming theory, this paper makes a comprehensive research on self-driving tourism in Changsha by the help of literature review, questionnaire investigation and interviews.The thesis consists of six parts. Chapter Ⅰ is an introduction, which expatiates the paper’s background, significance, as well as the concept of self-driving tourism, distinguishing features and classification, notifying the present situation of self-driving tourism research from home and aboard. Chapter Ⅱ introduces tourism consuming theory, the paper’s theoretical basis. The next chapter is to specifically illustrate the developing background of self-driving tourism in Changsha. Chapter Ⅳ is to compare and analyze the consumer behavior of self-driving and non-self driving tourists from Social characteristics, tourism behavior, consumption status and psychological features on the base of questionnaire and interviews. Chapter Ⅵ summarizes the self-driving tourists’ characteristics in Changsha and analyzes the influence factors. The last chapter shows the inspiration of self-driving tourists’ consumer behavior characteristics in Changsha, and indicates the paper’s defects.
