With the development of industrialization and urbanization, marriage and family life of the people has undergone in turn the world upside down. In particular, the marital problems of the town people frequently become the focus to discuss as various forms in the Internet, major newspapers and television programs, causing widespread concern in all academic. According to the Civil Affairs Bureau data show that, in the past10years, marriage rates and divorce rates have shown a sustained growth in the overall trend, Reveals the paradox:rising exchange rate and dropping marital output rate at the same time on the marriage market. For the people’s marital problems, I study on the morphology of the cities and towns marriage market through the questionnaire investigation. With the home economic theory, marriage market theory as the basis, establish the economics hypothesis for marriage market, then, do the qualitative and quantitative analysis on marriage action and marriage phenomena with utility theory, cost and profit theory, further study that marriage industry effects on the utility and cost of mate choice. Then do an empirical study on the collected information of the urban residents’ marriage by questionnaires. Study found that, in the current social background, the marriage market both have a large number of surplus men and ladies, and the divorce rate rises in successive years. The mainly reasons as follows:A long time investment in human capital caused the marriage market players lack the independent ability to operate marriage; The marriage industrial products and services increase the way to get the marriage’s effectiveness, but it also adds the cost for public marriage; Material capital become the core competitiveness on the marriage market, the spouse who has a strong material capital usually have more strength to choose other forms of capital. Meanwhile, people pay more and more attention to meet the spiritual in the existing material capital condition; The alternating of the old and new cultures have a profound influence on contemporary young men and women’s model for interaction, the average distribution of marital utility becomes new requirement for the marriage market; Social mobility intensified further increase the risk of marriage for modern people. For the main problem of the marriage market, I propose some relevant policy recommendations:firstly, encourage marriage market players to form a healthy marriage concept and behavior patterns; secondly, is to guide the market to form the correct consumer awareness for wedding; and the third is to strengthen the guidance and supervision on the marriage industry; lastly, advocating the relevant departments complete the relevant laws and rules of the marriage market, in order to promote the efficient operation of the marriage market. Thereby promote the marriage market to the efficient operation.
