Aksu City is located in the central area of southern Sinkiang with advantageous geographic location, which is political, economic and cultural center of Aksu Area. In recent years, with the population growth and improvement of urbanization rate in Aksu City, human activities have resulted in changes in land-use structure, meanwhile, they have increased the bearing pressure on ecological environment. As major growth pole of A Wen Union economic integration, Aksu City is required to pursue economic growth, but also to improve the quality of environment according to the requirements put forward by municipal party committee and municipal government to create an ecologically civilized city. Under this context, to analyze the relationship between changes in land use and ecological bearing capacity in Aksu City, and put forward reasonable suggestions are the problems which are urgent to be solved.Firstly, starting from research situation of our land use change and ecological bearing capacity, this paper reviewed land use change and ecological bearing capacity at home and abroad. Secondly, this paper made an analysis from rangeability, degree, intensity and trend in land use changes in Aksu City, and made a conclusion:in the past10years, the highest rate of change in land use in Aksu City is garden plot, woodland and other agricultural land. Throughout the whole period, the lowest rate of change in land use is building land and other land. In it:garden plot is mainly demonstrated as first increase and later decrease by taking2005as turning point; woodland and other agricultural land have higher fluctuation with "sine-wave" type changes by all taking2007as a dividing point. Residential area, industrial land, traffic land, irrigation facilities land, unused land and other land have undergone less changes in the past10years with stable performance; only arable land and pasture have displayed negative growth. Through analysis of comprehensive utilization of land in Aksu City, we can find that land use in Aksu City is in the development period with increased land intensity. The depth and breadth of the land use continue to increase, but the composite index value of land-use is not high with both at about155, which means that Aksu has to further increase the intensity of land consolidation use. In assessment of ecological bearing capacity, it has built evaluation system of ecological bearing capacity. It has selected17operable data which are targeted, concise, easy to collect and collate as evaluation index in accordance with the establishment principle of evaluation index system, furthermore, it has applied TOPSIS method to make comprehensive evaluation for three evaluation subsystems such as ecological elastic force, resources-environmental bearing capacity and socio-economic coordination force to conclude that:under the combined effect of ecological elastic force, resources—environmental bearing capacity and socio-economic coordination force, the ecological bearing capacity in Aksu City has presented the trend of first decrease and later increase in the decade, the degree of approach is between0.2and0.5with overall weak stability. Changes are mainly divided into two phases:the period of decrescent ecological bearing capacity is from2001to2007, of which the ecological approach declined from0.5408to0.2796with close distance from negative ideal solution, and then the ecological bearing capacity showed smaller trends; later, it showed growth trend during2008to2010, of which the approach of ecological bearing capacity gradually increased from0.3965to0.5314with close distance from ideal solution, and the ecological bearing capacity gradually increased.Finally, it adopted grey correlation degree to conduct a comprehensive analysis of land use change and ecological bearing capacity, analyzing the correlation between various land classes and evaluation index. The results show that social and economic activities human beings are engaged is the main reason which led to land use change in Aksu City.According to the above-mentioned discussion and combined with situation in research area, the paper proposed some countermeasures and suggestions for land use in Aksu City.
