At present, in the structure of animal husbandry in China, pork industry still dominates, with about65%of the proportion. In2009, China’s pork production reached48.89million tons (informationnetwork of China feed industry), which increase5%than that in2008, keeping No.1in the world. Inaddition, The pig industry have played an irreplaceable role in many aspects, such as the expandingrural employment, increasing the income of farmers, promoting the development of agriculture andrelated industries, revitalizing rural economy and so on. Therefore, the pig industry healthy and steadydevelopment becomes the current hotspots, the research on which has very important practicalsignificance.This thesis aims to the keys by the study of literature review and analyses on pig industrydevelopment in Liaoning province with the help of gathered data. Main contents and conclusions are asfollows:Since1995, the animal husbandry industry’s position has gradually increased in the development ofLiaoning province, becoming an important industry. As China’s leading grain cultivating area, Liaoningprovince has exceptional advantages and development potentials in the live pig breeding, which alsoshowed the extraordinary development speed in recent years, becoming increasingly a main pigbreeding areas. In latest years, pig production in Liaoning province has risen continually. During "thetenth Five-year" and" the Eleven Five-year", the pigs’ slaughter and breeding number are significantlyhigher than "the ninth Five-year "period. The live pig breeding structure in Liaoning province ischanging, small scale breeding is declining every year and scale feeding is constantly increasing, butsmall scale pig breeding still occupies a certain position.Pig industry in Liaoning province there are several problems, including the clear cyclicalfluctuation of live pig, worse price fluctuation volatility phenomenon; backward production modes, lowdegree of organization; parts of the poor pigs’ quality not to meet market; uneven interest distribution ofproduction, processing, and sales; continued animal disease and so on. These are problems to the pigindustry which are should be solved in Liaoning province.Implementation of industrialization is pig industry trends for the future development of Liaoningprovince. For pig industry chain composition, the current problems are analyzed and ways of optimizingpig industry chains in Liaoning province are proposed.By describing the Variation Rate showing short-term fluctuations, the general characteristics onlive pig production and price in Liaoning province are analyzed. The production and price cycle of pigare divided respectively in1998-2008. Taking Variation Rate from bottom via top to bottom as onecycle, the production is divided into two cycles and prices into three cycles; and the degree pig pricefluctuations is higher than the degree yield fluctuations. Through placing Variation Rate of pig price andVariation Rate of pig yield in one coordinates, the approximate reverse tendency of movement can beobserved.The causes of price fluctuation of live pig are studied, which mainly refer to the factors influencingdemand and supply of live pigs. The main influence factors about supply include growth cycle of thepigs, feed prices, piglets’ prices, price-expectation from producer. The main influence factors aboutdemand include the price of alternatives and income. While the epidemic and macro-control means are the factors affecting both demand and supply. Price fluctuation of live pig is affected by the dualinfluence factors from supply and demand. But supply factors play a decisive role and demand factorsplay a relatively minor role.
